How do I submit events to Libro or post them on the Calendar

It takes just a few clicks to have your events posted in both Libro and the monthly FLASHnews email of calendar events.

Members may click on the Add an Event menu item after they have logged in to the site.  Fill out the form as completely as possible, and be sure to provide the location and a contact person.

In order to ensure that your events will be printed in Libro, please post them on the calendar by the 15th of each month.

How do I renew my membership?

Membership in NMBA runs annually from September 1 of each year, at which time you will be notified to renew.  

You may mail your check in the amount of $65 to:  NMBA, PO Box 1285, Santa Fe, NM 87504; or pay online by clicking here.

Will the member list be traded or sold?

No.

What are the benefits of membership?

As a member you will receive:
our information-filled Libro newsletter for New Mexico’s book people access to the member directory participation in the members online forum opportunities to participate in our many professional development workshops and programs representation at NM book fairs and festivals, as well as regional book trade shows exposure for your books in our yearly showcase catalogs a standing invitation to speak with others at our monthly forums where you can ask your questions, find contacts, and promote your works and book events a presence on our very active www.nmbook.org website, with access to our online edition of New Mexico’s Book World (our comprehensive resource guide and directory of people, businesses, and institutions) our frequent FLASHnews updates on important book events numerous networking opportunities with writers, publishers, and other book professionals invitations to our Annual Meeting & Gala, the Book in Hand Honors,...

How much are annual dues?

First year initiation dues are $50. You will be asked to renew by September 1 of each year thereafter, at the renewal rate of $65.

Download/print the application form (found here), complete it, and mail it to NMBA with your check. Complete the online application form and choose the pay by check option. Complete the online application form and pay by PayPal. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can use this option to pay by major credit card.

Can I Join

Everyone who is involved in or interested in writing for publication, the book arts, or the literary professions is invited to join NMBA. We also welcome out-of-state members.

Who are your members?

Our members include book creators, writers, editors, publishers, illustrators, librarians, booksellers, book designers, typesetters, printers, literacy advocates, agents, reviewers, and avid readers. We are passionate book people who have come together through our common interests in the book in all its forms.

What geographic areas does NBMA serve?

NMBA serves the population of New Mexico and some out-state-members and affiliates.

Is NMBA a for-profit organization?

New Mexico Book Association (NMBA) is the only statewide nonprofit serving all book professionals. Founded in 1994 as a 501(c)(6) organization, NMBA has been recognized as one of the country’s most active book associations.
