Applicants range from large, medium, and small publishing companies, as well as independent and self-publishers, book designers and producers, authors, editors, and printers.

It's been a pleasure to see people publishing their first books competing and winning against large university and commercial houses. Having a winning book is more than a feather in your cap, it's a great way to promote your book.

The entry fees are low with early bird and NMBA discounts.

We want to include anyone with a beautiful book and the spirit to compete.

Creating a marketing plan is critical to the success of your writing and publishing business.  The New Mexico Book Association presents an interactive workshop, “How to Sell More Books through Great Planning.” The workshop will be presented by Scott Flora, vice president and co-owner of About Books, a book production company. Scott was formerly the Executive Director of The Small Publishers Association of North America (SPAN). He has presented popular workshops on book marketing at many conferences.

This workshop will provide you with the tools to develop a custom marketing plan designed to sell your book to your targeted customers. Workbooks for participants to follow and complete will be provided.
